The Federal Republic of Germany marks events of special importance, and honors important cultural and social figures, by issuing 20 euro silver collector coins. Many popular motifs have already been used, from the Reformation to Little Red Riding Hood, Alexander von Humboldt and The Show with the Mouse (Die Sendung mit der Maus). At the end of each year, Münze Deutschland issues all five 20 euro collector coins as a commemorative annual set.

For the first time in the history of the Federal Republic of Germany, 2021 saw the 25 euro collector coin also issued as a plate-shaped collector edition. The annual “Christmas” series is minted in high-quality pure silver.
