  The orchestra horn motif continues the “Musical Instruments” 50 euro gold coin series on August 10. It commemorates the tradition of instrument making in Germany. The musicians Heinrich Stölzel (1777–1844) and Friedrich Blühmel (1777–1845) are considered to be the inventors of the orchestra horn. Independently of each other, they fitted the classical natural horn with valves in order to significantly expand its range.
