  • “Subpolar Zone” 5 euro collector coin

This coin is the fourth in the five-part “Climate Zones of the Earth” series started in 2017, in which one coin per year will be issued until 2021.

On the image side, the composition excellently reproduces the vastness of the subpolar landscape. The sparseness of coastal tundra is clearly perceivable. The reindeer is characteristic of this climate zone. The image also contains a graphically refined portrayal of the erosion clefts of subpolar mountain ranges, which are typical characteristics of the landscape. In the background of the landscape, the influence of people is carefully but visibly broached.
