    On October 4, 2011, the “UNESCO World Heritage – Wartburg” 100 euro gold coin will be issued.

    The eighth edition of the UNESCO gold coin series honors Wartburg castle near Eisenach (Thuringia), which, in 1999, was the first German castle to be granted World Heritage status. This 100 euro gold coin will be minted in brilliant uncirculated quality. The official issue price of the 100 euro gold coins was set at €653.20 (incl. €50 surcharge). The gold coin was available to order from the Official Sales Agency for Collector Coins until May 31, 2011.
