  • Albert Einstein – 100 Years of Relativity * Atoms * Quanta

The image side depicts an artistic interpretation of Einstein’s central physical idea and formula, which began in the year 1905, Einstein’s “annus mirabilis”. Einstein’s central theory and its consequences are clearly illustrated. The famous formula E = mc2 appears as an inscription on a sphere representing mass, whose effect is the curvature of space and time. The cosmic dimensions of Einstein’s theories are also visible in the association of celestial bodies and outer space. Thus, a very simple image becomes an expression of how the static world view of the classical physicists was transformed into an understanding of a dynamic universe thanks to Einstein’s scientific work.
