Description Coin

Description Coin

The design by Stefanie Radtke from Leipzig is dedicated to the theme of "mobility" and the importance of craftsmanship in an "unusual and creative approach", according to the jury. The design looks to the future of mobility with clever symbolism from the perspective of craftsmanship." Based on the universal hexagon, the symbol of the hexagon is transferred to modular and networked mobility; the "knowing hand" in the form of a neural network "screws" on the success of the mobility turnaround. The value side harmonises with the image side in an unusual way with the eagle in a hexagonal outline.

Backgroundinformation

Backgroundinformation

Mobility plays a major role for the skilled crafts sector itself. To ensure that skilled trade products and services can be utilised quickly and easily, companies and employees, partners and suppliers, clients and customers must be easy and uncomplicated to reach, whether in (large) cities or in rural regions. The basic prerequisite for this is an optimally developed infrastructure with the shortest possible distances. Whether materials or tools need to be brought to construction sites or to private households for repairs, whether suppliers need to transport their preliminary products to manufacturing companies or customers need to shop at the butcher's, bakery or glasses shop: Mobility brings supply and demand together.

However, mobility is also of fundamental importance to the German skilled crafts sector in another respect: skilled crafts services are a key component in ensuring the (ever-increasing) mobility of our society. The qualifications and expertise of numerous trades are the basis for the success of the "mobility turnaround", one of the major transformation processes of our time. Put simply: without the skilled trades, there would be no road and rail construction, no car and bicycle repairs, no charging stations for electric vehicles. Medium-sized companies play a key role in the implementation of e-mobility and other alternative drive technologies. New technologies can only be successfully implemented with qualified tradespeople, especially in the field of electromobility with sufficient service and charging infrastructure.
